It’s the Everyday Front Yard in Hawaii…

…yet at the same time it’s a yard that anyone on the mainland can’t even dream up. What I love about this photos is that on one hand, there’s nothing really special about it – relative to Hawaii yards. But relative to your average mainland front yard, it’s in another world.

And that’s what is so special about Hawaii – what to us is everyday is an exotic world to others.   Gary shared this photo of his front yard in an email to me and it captures the sentiment perfectly: “I’m on the Big Island and everyone from back home in Washington that saw this couldn’t believe that’s where I live. ”
